You did not pass the NCLEX. What now?

Short answer
You can retake the NCLEX after 45 days, and repeat candidates pass at roughly half the first-time rate — mostly because they repeat the same preparation. Start from your Candidate Performance Report, rebuild around questions and rationales rather than content review, and give it six weeks rather than two.
First, the logistics
You must wait 45 days between attempts, and re-register and pay again through your board of nursing. Book the date before you start studying — an open-ended retake tends not to happen.
Read the Candidate Performance Report properly
It rates you below, near, or above the passing standard in each category. 'Near' in a heavily weighted category costs you more than 'below' in a light one. Rank the categories by weight × weakness, and study in that order.
Change the method, not just the hours
The most common retake failure is more hours of the same content review. If your first attempt was reading and video lectures, your second should be 75 questions a day with every rationale read. The gap between first-time and repeat pass rates is largely a gap in method.

Ask directly. Asking about suicide does not plant the idea, and a veiled statement like this one has to be converted into an assessable answer before anything else happens — including exploring feelings. Reassurance dismisses the statement, deferring to group delays a safety assessment, and 'what made you feel this way' is a therapeutic question in the wrong order: safety first, then exploration.
